Connective Issue #49

This September, we’re coming together for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month to spread gold, share stories, and shine a light on the osteosarcoma community. Get your gold bows and meet some of the incredible Bow Agent families helping raise awareness and make a difference. We’re looking forward to the next TURBO meeting on September 9 and connecting with members of our community at the State of Sarcoma event during CureFest later this month. Learn how you can become an MIB Awareness Agent and help get rack cards into hospitals and clinics. Plus, our OutSmarting Osteosarcoma Letter of Intent (LOI) submission period opens September 9. Together, every bow, every story, and every action helps move us closer to a better future.

With hope,

Our Community

Bow Season is Here!

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and our annual Gold Bow Campaign brings our community together to raise awareness and show support for the osteosarcoma community.

Our Bow Agent volunteers are helping spread the message in honor of the OsteoWarriors and OsteoAngels who inspire them, sharing Gold Bows and inviting others to join them.

Every bow tells a story. It’s a visible reminder of the children and families affected by osteosarcoma and a symbol of hope, courage, and community. Every bow displayed represents a promise to push for better treatments for kids with cancer and honor the OsteoWarriors and OsteoAngels who inspire us.

Who will you honor? Get a Gold Bow and help raise awareness in your community. Community Bow Packs and Gold Bow Kits are available through the MIB Boutique, making it easy to share Gold Bows with your school, workplace, organization, or community. Display your Gold Bow on your mailbox, front door, office, classroom, tree, or anywhere special to you.

There’s still time to join them and make an impact in your own community!
Together, we can turn our communities gold and shine a light on childhood cancer this September.

Education

Join TURBO on September 9

If you’re managing a patient with relapsed osteosarcoma and want additional perspectives on treatment strategies or clinical trial options, consider presenting the case at MIB Agents TURBO (Tumor Review Board for Osteosarcoma). TURBO meets via Zoom every two months, bringing together a global panel of osteosarcoma experts to review complex cases, exchange insights, and discuss emerging data. It’s a collegial, multidisciplinary forum designed to support clinical decision-making for challenging cases. This educational forum is for medical professionals only; patients and families are welcome to ask their oncologists to present a case on their behalf. Our next meeting is January 13, 2027 at 5p ET.

Join TURBO to request an invite or submit a case.

Thank you to Exelixis for sponsoring TURBO!

A Few More Ways to Make It Better

We're heading into the last few months of 2026, but there is still so much work to be done - and so many opportunities to Make It Better!

From supporting an OsteoWarrior through programs, helping clinicians connect, and bringing advocates and researchers together, our programs are only possible because of the supporters in our community.

We still have several 2026 sponsorship opportunities available.
