Connective Issue #38

Childhood Cancer Awareness Month may have come to a close, but the momentum continues. This month, we’re spotlighting members of MIB Agents' Junior Advisory Board and NextGen who traveled to Washington DC for Climb the Hill to advocate for the Give Kids A Chance Act. Physicians and researchers are invited to join TURBO on November 5th to discuss complex cases and share insights and best practices. Our 2025 Holiday Cards, featuring artwork from OsteoWarriors, are now available in the MIB store at a special early-bird price. LOIs for our 2026 OutSmarting Osteosarcoma Grant cycle are due October 24th. Abstract submissions are now open for FACTOR 2026 in Columbus, Ohio. Together, these efforts remind us that every voice, every action, and every idea helps us Make It Better for the osteosarcoma community.

With hope,

The MIB Agents Team

OUR COMMUNITY

Climb the Hill

This past month, members of our Junior Advisory Board and NextGen traveled to Washington, DC, to participate in Climb the Hill, an advocacy effort through Kids v. Cancer to support the Give Kids A Chance Act. These advocates shared their stories, met with congressional offices, and attended the Annual Childhood Cancer Caucus Summit. By speaking directly with legislators and staff, they brought attention to the need for more innovative treatment options and stronger support, helping to advance positive change for the future of childhood cancer research.

Thank you to the Carter Family and MilesCount for making this opportunity possible!

Junior Advisory Board member Camille Brady shared what her experience on Capitol Hill meant to her and why it matters for the future. You can read her full reflection below.

EDUCATION

Share and Discuss Complex Cases at TURBO

TURBO (Tumor Review Board for Osteosarcoma) is a free, virtual international tumor board connecting physicians treating osteosarcoma with world-leading experts across disciplines. Moderated by Dr. Matteo Trucco (Cleveland Clinic), TURBO offers a space to review complex cases, share insights, and collaborate across top institutions. Clinicians present challenging cases for multidisciplinary input, while researchers are invited to observe real-world clinical decision-making. TURBO is for medical professionals only, but patients and caregivers may ask their provider to submit a case.

Next meeting: November 5th at 5p ET
