Jaden was born on July 18, 2013, with a natural inclination to bring joy, creativity, and strength to those around him. At the age of 7, he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in his right proximal humerus after experiencing persistent pain. Despite the shock, Jaden began MAP treatment on May 10, 2021, and underwent a complex surgery to replace his affected humerus with his fibula.
Throughout his treatment, Jaden remained positive and resilient. He humorously referred to his scars as shark bites. Despite the recurrence of his tumor and the progression of his disease to his lungs and brain, Jaden never lost hope. He trusted his medical team and continued to fight with unwavering courage.
Jaden was a talented artist, creating detailed drawings and building intricate battleships. He was competitive, always striving to match his older brother in various activities, from piano to sports. An avid gamer, Jaden excelled at Mario Kart and Minecraft, even ranking in the top 3 at Super Nintendo World.
Jaden’s dream was to become a doctor at MD Anderson Children’s Hospital to help other kids. He actively raised awareness and funds for osteosarcoma research, donating his artwork and participating in fundraisers. Despite his own struggles, Jaden’s compassion and desire to make a difference never wavered.
Jaden passed away on October 26, 2024, at the age of 11, after a courageous battle with cancer. His strength, bravery, and infectious smile left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. Jaden’s legacy continues through the fund established in his name, dedicated to finding a cure for osteosarcoma and improving the lives of those affected by this illness.
