Our beautiful daughter Carrigan, forever 24, possessed the singing voice of an angel. Whether on stages big or small across the country, she lived to entertain. But Carrigan’s true gift was how she chose to use that voice: as a powerful instrument for the causes she loved and as a relentless advocate for the pediatric cancer community.
When Carrigan found MIB Agents, she found a home. She proudly served on the Junior Advisory Board and the NextGen Board until her passing on Christmas Day 2025. The MIB community wholeheartedly embraced our entire family from the beginning and continues to do so in our grief. Their dedication to family resources, education, and the pursuit of life-saving research is life-changing for the osteosarcoma community.
Carrigan took her mission all the way to Washington, D.C., on four separate occasions. In 2019, she attended the State of the Union Address to put a face to the need for affordable healthcare. She returned to the capital three more times to lobby for childhood cancer legislation—a passion she carried until her final days.
She carried this torch willingly throughout her grueling seven-year battle with Osteosarcoma. Though she was never in remission, her resolve never wavered. She endured years of major surgeries, high-dose chemotherapy, radiation, and the loss of her leg, yet her spirit remained bright and focused on others. In her final act of compassion and selflessness, Carrigan agreed to a medical autopsy to help researchers "make it better" for future osteosarcoma patients.
It was her deepest wish that her legacy continue to spark hope and progress for those facing osteosarcoma. We are honored to fulfill that wish through this Family Fund, ensuring her voice is heard forever.
We are eternally proud of our smart, kind, sweet, silly, guardian angel Carrigan.
