Aiden was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in his left tibia in February of 2021. Less than a week later he started over 9 months of intensive chemotherapy following the standard MAP protocol, as well as endured 5 different surgeries, including Limb Salvage Surgery in May of 2021. During this time Aiden was unable to go to school, see friends, and often was away from his siblings for weeks at a time. He bravely endured daily Hickman Line flushings, long hospital stays, weekly clinic trips, and multiple blood and platelet transfusions. In November of 2021, he completed treatment and is currently NED!
MIB has been a huge support to our family throughout Aiden’s journey. Their patient programs, education, and research have all been invaluable. The osteosarcoma journey can feel incredibly lonely and isolating, but MIB makes sure no family ever feels alone, which has been a wonderful blessing to us. We will continue to fight hard against osteosarcoma because together we can “Make It Better!”
