The MIB Ambassador Agents program connects osteosarcoma patients and families to osteosarcoma survivors and their families. Ambassador Agents have walked the osteosarcoma path and are dedicated to providing support and hope to individuals who are in treatment now. We are here to listen. We will hear you. You are not alone. We understand. School aged patients spend so much time in the hospital and traveling for treatment, that their daily activities are vastly different from their friends’. Parents are no longer occupied with packing lunches, scheduling piano lessons, carpooling to hockey practice, or gossiping about the neighbors. Medical professionals are usually wonderful, but they can only answer and anticipate so much. Most families feel despair and as though they are living in a cave, or a war zone alone. Our Ambassador Agents Understand. They have been there. They will MAKE IT BETTER! This, and every MIB Agents program is free of charge, thanks to generous donors who Make it Better.
MJ Smart is a Licensed Social Worker and older sibling to an osteosarcoma survivor. We are delighted to have her as our Group Moderator for the Young Adult Survivor Support Group. If you are a year out of treatment, please consider joining this group of your peers!
